Altair00

NECA has put out some really nice action figures for the first four Assassin’s Creed video games, and now McFarlane Toys has picked up the license for Assassin’s Creed III and onward. This Altair figure was the very first release NECA did, and it’s still a great toy. He came with a whole bunch of accessories, including his various knives and swords, not to mention a retractable hidden blade.

Heisenberg00

With as many collectibles as I own, sometimes I can get a little jaded and not be super excited about new ones I get. This one is a very happy exception to that, and I’m hugely happy to have gotten this Heisenberg action figure from Mezco’s new Breaking Bad toy series. The figure isn’t poseable, so I think of it more as a mini statue than as a proper action figure. Still, this thing is amazing, mostly due to the fantastic sculpting talents of Trevor Grove. Walt comes with a removable hat and sunglasses, and he also includes a duffle bag full o’ money. And I have to say that I’m pretty sure this is the first toy I’ve gotten that comes with a bag of plastic meth as an accessory. I’m a huge Breaking Bad fan, and I absolutely love this figure. There are more being released in this series, and I can’t wait to add them into the collection.

Sinestro00

I’m taking a quick detour today back into the DC Superhero Figurine collection from Eaglemoss to post a few pictures of the Sinestro miniature. I got a few new additions to the collection this week, and I hope to have time to take pictures of them this weekend, before time to get ready and pack for Dragon Con!

HarleyQuinn00

I’ve posted a lot of Harley Quinn statues and busts here, but this was my very first one. She’s part of the earliest series of Cover Girls of DC statues, based on the art of Adam Hughes, and while the busts have put Harley in her classic costume over and over, this is the only statue in this particular line that has her in the traditional red and black outfit.

Mystique00

I’ve posted several of the Bishoujo statues created by Kotobukiya, and I have quite a few more in that series that haven’t shown up on here quite yet. I’m going to be working my way through photographing all of them during this Project 365, and here is Mystique. She comes with a circular clear plastic display base, but I took these pictures without using it. It’s a little bit of an underwhelming base, as it doesn’t have any sort of theming or decoration and basically just takes up space under and around the figure. Mystique herself is really well done, though. The gun in her hand is removable, and the skull belt is attached separate from the rest of the figure, so you can move, rotate, and shift it around to display in the position you like.

Indigo-1-00

Here we come to the final piece in the DC Blackest Night bust series that I haven’t posted yet: Indigo-1. She’s one of the only two females (Star Sapphire being the other) in this series and is taller than most of the others, thanks to her staff. I’ll be posting some new photos of older collectibles over the next couple of days, and then I’ll be queueing up some older photos to post while I’m gone next week to Dragon Con.

RunProgress

At the end of July I decided to get in better shape by making myself get out and run. I was in pretty blah shape, so the initial stages of that were mostly walking and staggering, but I made myself do it. After consulting you folks, I ended up finding the Runtastic app and linking it between my phone and their website. Since then I’ve been doing a good job of keeping up with my runs / walks. I’ve been going out no less than once every other day, but I really try to do it every single day.

GreenLantern00

This guy is the centerpiece of my Blackest Night bust collection, and he’s my favorite Green Lantern (in much the same way that most folks have their favorite Doctor from Doctor Who). This Hal Jordan bust isn’t the first collectible in the DC bust series to feature the character, but it’s made especially for the Blackest Night subseries, complete with matching base.

SaintWalker00

Today I’m posting another of the alien characters from DC’s Blackest Night bust series. This one is Saint Walker in his Blue Lantern Corps uniform, and his base matches the rest of the Lantern members in this subset of the main line.

Batman00

I’m back to the Blackest Night busts after taking a couple of days off for other collectibles, and today’s feature is Black Lantern Batman. Blackest Night came after DC’s extended Batman R.I.P. storyline, in which Bruce Wayne comic book-died (meaning, of course, that he just went away from the comics for a while and returned later at an opportune time). During the time that Batman supposedly was dead, he came back in this zombified version along with a bunch of other deceased DC heroes and villains, including the previously posted Firestorm. I like the details in the paint on this Batman, especially the mud splatters on his cape that make it look like he’s just clambered his way up out of a grave. His pose either is a zombie reach or an enthusiastic call for the check while he waits impatiently in his booth at Chili’s.
