Life

Yesterday we received our press pass confirmations for MegaCon 2012, so we’ll be back there again this year. MegaCon is held in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center each year, and it’s a multimedia con but has a pretty strong focus on comic books. I’ve seen a pretty big anime presence there in the past few years, but I tend to steer clear of that programming.

When I turned 16 my parents spoiled me by buying me my first car, a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am. Believe it or not, I’ve never owned another car after getting that one, some seventeen years later. It’s had its share of problems during that time, but all the problems have been fixable. Not being even remotely a car enthusiast, I’ve always been happy with just having something to get me safely from point A to point B, regardless of the fact that kids have been born and started driving during the period of time I’ve owned this car.

Before we even left home, we were seeing loads of our friends Tweeting that they were already at their con hotels on Wednesday, two full days before the official start of the con.

I’ve been on radio silence with this blog again, but this time I do have a good excuse. I last posted in April, and since then Celeste and I found and bought a house! I’ve heard many people say that the most excruciatingly horrible thing you can put yourself through is a toss-up between giving birth and passing kidney stones. I’ve done neither of those, but I still feel safe with adding the home buying process just below those two on the list.
