Blade00

I’ve always had an affection for Charles Band’s Puppet Master movie series. It’s the very definition of what I think campy B-horror should be, and it’s ripe for weird merchandising. A long time ago (probably sometime in the early 2000s), Full Moon Toys put out a series of action figures based on all the puppets, and I hoarded every one of them into my collection. They all got packed into plastic bags and boxes when I moved to Florida in 2004. Yesterday I finally cracked open some of those moving boxes that have been sealed up for nearly a decade, and the first one I looked into had my lovely puppets staring back up at me. I’m super happy to have found these things again, and I’m going to try to find a way to display them that doesn’t entirely creep Celeste out. This guy is the main and most recognizable of the Puppet Master characters, Blade. The action figure has “real” hair and comes with two different fabric trenchcoats. The first coat (which he’s wearing in these pictures) is plain black, and the other is spattered with blood. He also comes with several interchangeable hand attachments, including a knife, a hook, and an ax.
